Children must go the extra mile to school
December 13, 2007 - 0:0
Children could face walking an extra mile to get to primary school after changes to catchment areas in West Lothian.
The council has agreed to change the catchment for Livingston Village Primary School, which will affect pupils living in ten nearby streets.Father-of-two David Cohen has launched a petition protesting against the plans, which will add half-an-hour to many children's journeys.
He is calling on the council to extend the school as his children will now have to attend Peel Primary.
He said: ""I'm very disappointed with this decision. There is still another stage to go as it has to be approved by Scottish ministers and we're also looking at whether or not we can appeal the decision.""
